This crankset was developed in collaboration with bikefitting.com, Shimano's sister company specialising in bike ergonomics. Power is measured using the crank arm from both the left and right sides. The cadence and other important values for training, such as smooth pedal strokes, are also part of the power meter's range of functions. It can be paired with bike computers enabled with ANT+ or Bluetooth. The FC-R9100-P cranks harness real-time power measuring and recording, and can aggregate and assess measurement data. Just like „normale“ FC-R9100 without power measuring, the Power Meter crankset is a hollowtech crankset with hollow forged aluminium arms and Hollowtech II construction for an optimum stiffness-to-weight ratio. The chainstays in the present version are not included. Only the chainring bolts are included.
