Workshop Tip:  Pedals have threads running in opposite directions so that they cannot come loose while riding. Loosen Pedals:  The easiest way to release a pedal is to bring the crank forward horizontally, place the pedal wrench to the rear in the direction of the bottom bracket (also as horizontally as possible) and then press the wrench downwards. This way both sides can be released without problems.  Tighten Pedals:  To tighten the pedal, align it horizontally to the rear.
